Outreach
Working with our beloved community is one of our favorite things we do, something we embrace as a core value and moral responsibility. Collaborating with partners like Maybelle Center for Community and Coffee Creek Correctional Facility help us connect through music with friends new and old through high quality musical experiences.
We are grateful to be working with noted arts activist Crystal Meneses as our outreach coordinator, finding creative opportunities to serve our community with programming that engages partners of all ages. We come together through a wide variety of musical activities including choir performances, sound baths, flash mobs, new compositional experiences, and more. The universe is the limit!
Are you an emerging artist, composer, social service center, or community leader looking to collaborate? Email Crystal Meneses to start creatively connecting!
Why We Outreach
We exist because music is more than notes on a page it is a thread that weaves together communities, generations, cultures, and stories. At our core, we believe that world-class musicians rooted in Oregon can serve not only as performers, but as healers, connectors, collaborators, and agents of belonging. We celebrate excellence, but the excellence we seek is defined by service, connection, and transformative presence.
Our Outreach Vision and Values
• Creative Belonging & Community
We believe every person deserves access to the healing, joy, and resonance of live music. We commit to reaching into underserved spaces — rural Oregon, memory-care facilities, youth grief groups, intergenerational circles — and to designing experiences that invite everybody into the conversation.
• Cultural Humility & Equitable Partnership
We approach every collaboration with curiosity, respect, and openness. We honour cultural traditions, community knowledge, and lived experience. We commit to co-creation rather than extraction, recognizing that true artistry emerges when power is shared and voices are amplified.
• Healing & Presence Through Sound
Music, for us, is medicine. Whether bedside at end-of-life, in sound-bath for grieving communities, or youth workshops for expression and resilience, we bring musicianship into service of emotional and spiritual care. We hold the space for grief, loneliness, hope, memory and emergence.
• Interdisciplinary Imagination
We transcend genre, instrument, venue and expectation. We partner with visual artists, literary artists, makers of new instruments, movement practitioners, storytellers, and sound-innovators. Because vibrant community music-making reflects the full spectrum of human creativity.
• Oregon Roots, Global Vision
We are rooted in the natural beauty and creative ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. Our stage is Portland, our homes are Oregon, our networks are worldwide. We draw inspiration from place — from rivers, waves, forests and skies — while engaging global forms and diverse cultural expressions.
• Excellence & Shared Learning
We are musicians who bring our gifts into collaborations that serve community, build capacity, and create meaning. We believe in ongoing learning, experimentation, and sharing our skills so that music becomes more accessible and relevant.
• Joy, Generosity & Connection
At the heart of our work is the simple truth: we make music because we are alive, because we want to connect. We bring curiosity, generosity, and joy, striving to meet people where they are, and invite them into something beautiful and restorative.
